Kate is a registered psychologist and a clinical member of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Psychotherapy (ANZAP) and The International Association for Relational Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy (IARPP). She began working as a somatic psychotherapist in 1989. She later studied psychology and completed post-graduate training in the Conversational Model of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. Kate has worked in public and private mental health settings, as a child and adult sexual assault counsellor, a perinatal-infant and child practitioner, and a trauma-informed therapist working with individuals and groups. She is a facilitator of the Circle of Security Parenting Program. Since 2006, she has had a private practice in Sydney’s Inner West.

Kate provides short-term and long-term psychotherapy to adults from diverse cultural, social, and economic backgrounds. She is experienced in working with a large range of issues including: childhood or recent trauma, unfulfilling relationship patterns, trouble setting boundaries, grief, loss, anxiety, low mood, patterns of underachievement, dissatisfaction with accomplishments, adjustment to parenting, a pervasive sense of discontent, or simply feeling stuck. Kate is also comfortable working with men to help them understand feelings of frustration, anger and confusion in their relationships.

Kate is registered as a Medicare Psychology Provider. She prefers working from a psychodynamic approach where she can support clients to discover the history of their problems and create healthier patterns of relating to others and feeling about themselves.
